Nothing is working. ..nothing is happening
Words we exclaim in frustration when things are not moving as we hoped or expected. But when we exclaim these words do we stop to think, whose timeline am I on? What mile marker was set for this point in time? When we set out on our journey’s, too often we have the tendency to set our goals of progression based upon what others have achieved and when. In this we are setting ourselves up for potential failure as we eventually become exhausted, frustrated, and weary, giving up on what we hoped to attain or achieve.
What you want or desire to achieve must be for you and you alone. When our motivation stems from being like another, we never set a course on the path that was meant for us. Instead, we unconsciously start off on their path. When we attempt to do what another has done, when they did it, and how they did it may seem like it starts off great, yet after not seeing the same results, we question why? In our minds, we believe that by this point we should see obvious progression not realizing that this is not our time.
See everyone may start at the same time, but what we must realize is that time is relative to our own unique and individual journey. What one may achieve in a year or two may take us 3 to 4 to accomplish. This is not a sign of what we have done wrong, but a sign that what God has for you, is for you alone. While we may desire the outcome for another, we must realize that their success and promise was meant for them. Your success and promise were meant for you. Because of what is in store for you, and what you must do with what has been set aside for you, the timing is also unique. Everyone’s coming out party cannot be the same as the time, place, and people you were set aside for are also not ready or in position to receive the benefits or gifts of your promise. The magnitude of what you will step into maybe greater than another, therefore the time it takes to prepare you will be longer. Remember you must ensure you are seeking your promise, not some else’s. We must trust the journey and process God prepared for us.
Look around, at nature. Even certain plants and trees will only bloom in the season they were designed for. Some provide us beauty in the spring, while others provide us beauty in the fall, some even provide us beauty in winter -the darkest time of the year. In trusting the plans and process God has for you, you may soon realize that you may be one of the rare entities that will bloom in the season when it is darkest for some, providing hope when they need it the most. When unfocused on our path we may be attempting or expecting to blossom during the wrong season. A time when there is already an abundance of beauty, so much that we become unnoticed or overlooked. Imagine if we all bloomed in the same season, all with the same fruits. What would our world look like, how would everyone survive?
Would your fruits go to waste because you looked the same as everyone else, thus was passed over? What a waste your hard work for growth would be. What about the people who needed to eat from your tree? Would they have nothing to eat in another season since everyone blossomed all at once? Would what they tried to harvest during the spring last them until and through the winter? Would what they try to Harvest in summer last through next spring? I would argue that many would begin to starve and perish.
As God is not only our creator but the creator of all things, I would argue that he understands what we all need, when we need it and why, therefore his timing to start us in each of our journeys is eminent. Having faith in his plans and timing is essential for not only our survival but for mankind. No need to focus on others, when we can simply keep our focus on him. No need to bring about self-imposed frustrations when we can easily focus on our walk, journey, our season rather than that of another. We can all hold our heads up high, embarking on our journey knowing we are on the path to greatness no matter how long it may take us.
As others move or grow faster than us, as they blossom during their season, we will not get discouraged as we are still ripening for our right season, after all, what is time anyway?
It’s a season for what is right for us , to receive what is rightfully ours and ours alone.
