The Agenda

I take to the street to with my Bible in hand to proclaim His name to all in the land
I have a goal in mind. I am responsible for saving souls. The more I save the better I am.
I go forth with my head held high and my voice loud, so all can hear my boisterous cry

It is important that all can hear the many scriptures I can recite, after all, I have practiced them all of my life
The world should know the life that I live because it is my life that I freely give

Come, hear ye, hear ye, listen to me.  I have a word for you.
I came to share how your life does not measure up to mine.
I was once like you. I lived a life of sin, but I turned my life around, and now I walk on solid ground

Hear ye, hear ye, turn from your wicked ways, become like me because we are living in the last and evil days
Hear ye, hear ye, this life you live is not righteous, you must be saved, come and give your life to Christ today
Have you been water baptized, if not you will die in the lake of fire

These are the things I must take to the street and proclaim across the land, this is my task according to my Evangelism Agenda given by man
But when one goes out with this agenda, this checklist, and  screaming these words for all to hear, are we really saving souls or are words falling on deaf ears

When we take to the streets with an agenda of our own, can we reach those He wants to return home?
For many will say, this process is effective, after all, the prayer of salvation is prayed with many during our works
We are planting seeds, many will argue, but the greater question is what seeds are you planting? What fruit will be produced?
Will the fig continue to produce or will it dry up and die?

When we take to the street whose agenda are we going with? What voice are we hearing to know what food to take to those in need? Can we provide the provision to whoever needs what the most, following The Shepherd to find his lost sheep?

Are we able to see what He sees and hear what He hears or do we talk with those we encounter, constantly telling them how wrong they are using Christianize?

Do we recite so much scripture to show our “Bible Smarts” that we are unable to have a simple conversation, being unrelatable to those who need to make a connection?

Are we too busy condemning, looking down on those we are to connect to because we somehow believe that because we were sent, that we have arrived? What was the agenda and who is really saving lives?

Let us not forget that we all fall short of the glory of God. We are sent to do His will, it is just that, His Will.  Not ours. The work is not about us. We are to listen, remain open, and follow.

That should be the one and only agenda.
