Rid The Familiar

Rid yourself of the familiar and take on a new level of faith

As you move throughout your day, examine your movements, your actions, your encounters. Have you become subject to routines? Do you take the same route to work, school, home? Do you pass by the same people, places, and things each day without taking notice of anything?

When we become familiar with things in our life, we have the tendency to overlook things and situations. We become passersby in life rather than participants. We see the familiar faces without taking notice of who people are and oftentimes missing an opportunity to make valuable connections. We drive or travel the same routes daily without seeing or witnessing the beauty that surrounds us.

Challenge yourself, today, to rid yourself of the familiar. Try something new and see the power of God move in your life. Take the opportunity to step outside of what makes you comfortable. Try something new. Take a different route to your destination and open your eyes to the beauty of God’s creation around you. Try a conversation with someone you would normally pass by and witness the power of connections. Bring encouragement and joy to someone you would consider a stranger and witness the beauty of realizing the impact of “loving your neighbor.”

Too often we are simply waiting for God to show up and do something in our lives, but just as we are waiting on Him, He is waiting on us. He is waiting for us to come from our mundane life and take a leap of faith and realize that He already dwells among us. We need to open our eyes to see that He is here…there with you and in so many ways. As you encounter others, you may experience God’s love. As you take in what is around you, you will witness his presence.

You don’t have to go far to see or witness the power of God. You just have to open your eyes to the infinite ways he is near and present.

So may your eyes, ears, mind, and heart become open to the things of God as He continues to present Himself to you. Take a leap of faith today to take notice and experience God in your life. He sees you. Now it is time that you SEE Him
