The Activation of Faith

How often have you felt that you've fervently prayed, yet it seems like things are not moving as you'd hoped?

We find ourselves waiting for God to move on our behalf, laboring in hope.

We hope that one day or at any moment we will witness his hand moving on our behalf.

We have become so accustomed to grasping onto one-liners that have become overly familiar. We cherry-pick scripture, taking in only what feels or tastes good, refusing to ingest what makes us uncomfortable.

We like, Be Still and Know that I am God.

We like knowing He will fight our battles.

We like, worship in the waiting.

These are easier to follow in their simplistic form. However, for each of these familiar notions, we can take them to a deeper level that activates a more profound level of faith.

Be still and KNOW I AM GOD.

This is not a command to do nothing as we have commonly mistaken ot to be. Coming from Psalm 46:10, this verse commands us to trust the sovereignty of God in trying times. Be still means to relax. In other words, to not stress or worry and trust God’s plan and power.

Rather than sitting still as we misinterpret, we can actively move worry-free. We can, in this moment, also actively listen to seek His plan and what He commands us to do. We may hear things that do not make sense, but this is where you activate your trust in Him and move forward, believing that what is expected is for your good, no matter how uncomfortable it makes you.

God will fight my battles.

Exodus 14:14

Too often, we take ‘still’ to mean a passive action. But in this passage, God is instructing the Israelites not to fear pursuing the Egyptian Army. Here, he is letting them know that he will divinely intervene on their behalf, yet they must trust in his sovereignty and not take matters into their own hands.

There is a distinct difference between our desire to help God and moving in alignment with his plan.

Our misinterpretation of helping occurs when we pray but take matters into our own hands and work a plan we hope will work.

Alignment, again, is listening to and seeking direction from God, then moving as He commands, even if it doesn’t make sense.

As we move with him, we begin to witness his hand.

Worship in the waiting: Psalm 27:14

Worship is a powerful tool, as the act of worship demonstrates faith and trust in God.

We like to focus on singing songs of worship, but there is a way of worshiping through your works that takes your activation of faith deeper.

The bottom line is that we are not called to a passive life, living our lives in hope that God will move.

We are called to actively move with God, being active participants in His plan. Thus, after we get it into our hearts and minds to trust in Him, we must understand how to walk this out.

Are we willing to move in uncertainty

Are we willing to move differently

Are we willing to move unexpectedly

All to receive supernatural outcomes?

Today, I challenge you to move from passive hope to an active level of faith.

What faith moves are you willing to make today?

Sit with God

Yes, pray

But then listen

After you hear

Move

Move in faith, knowing He is God. He is sovereign and will intervene on your behalf. Therefore, you can trust in Him as you move in worshipping him as you move closer to the majestic outcome you’ve long desired.
